All our dream houses are spacious, but let’s facing the fact that most of us are struggle with spaces in reality. Here are some practical design tips to help you makes your house looks bigger and spacious.
The hands-down easiest way to make your room looks bigger - hanging curtains to the ceiling and wider than the window frame to make the walls look taller and the room lighter.
To apply this simple trick, place a curtain rod very close to the ceiling, roughly 2 inches below the crown molding and in the same time extend the rod at least 4 inches on either side of the window so that the window appears wider—and allows in more light.
2.Use underbed bed storage to maximize your bedroom
Using under the bed space is not new, but randomly throws stuff in a box underneath the bed, would mess up the view of bedroom as a whole and hard to find the stuff you needed.
If you are struggle with useful storage in your bedroom and like a modern and spacious design aesthetic, a platform bed with storage system could be the perfect solution.
Platform bed comes without headboard, gives more visual space in your room.
Big drawers in each side provide easy access space to organize all your stuff, which means you could cut down bedroom furniture pieces.
Additionally, integrating storage drawer with the bed together, the whole bed becomes a statement piece that decreases the look of clutter and makes a room feel bigger.

This is probable the most effective way to increase visual space. Placing a big piece mirror or use the whole wall mirror in a small space, the reflection will double the space visually. If possible, placing a mirror across from a window is the best way to reflect light and make the room feel larger.
4. Use light colors on the walls and the floor
While darker colors absorb light, making the space feel smaller, light colour will reflect lights and makes rooms looks bigger. Considering floor and wall colour contributes about 70% od the whole, opt for lighter colored flooring and wall to make the room feel airy.
Installing shelves that high up above wardrobe or doors, not only you can make good storage of these overlooked spaces, but more importantly, storing personal collections like books or china, draw sight upward so that makes the spaces bigger.
Just like stripes on clothing, a vertical striped elongate your vision and horizontal strip widen your vision. Depending on the shape of your room, using a large rug or wall strip effect will make your room appear longer or wider.
